He is 44. And, from Nodesheh city in kermanshah. He speaks Aramaic and sings in his local and mother tongue. Siachamaneh is the main song of Oraman, and he has been interested in it from his teens.
Osman Horami, who is the Great master of this type of Music, has been his master for so many years.
I am Esmail Hamidi from Kermanshah province and Oramanat region. Here, in the presence of friends, I will talk about the music of “Oraman” and introduce the music of the people of Oraman. The people of Oramanat, like all people throughout history, have composed music according to their psychological and emotional needs. They have made songs and lived with them. And over time, these songs and tunes have remained in the whole music of our ancestors.
“Siah Chamaneh” is the main song. First of all, its better to know that there is no written history about “Siah Chamaneh” or “Oraman”. And, unfortunately useful information is not available. And, we do not know much about its historical background and where Siah Chamaneh has come from. Therefore, there are different opinions. Some say that the word “Siah Chamaneh” is composed of “Siah” plus “cham” plus the suffix “-aneh”. “Siah”, means black, “Cham” has a meaning of river or eye, as well as the shawls were worn in the past. Some say that it was a song that was sung in fire temples in religious ceremonies by Zoroastrians and has faced changes throughout history.
We have 72 Maqam in Siah Chamaneh. We also have had some great masters in this area. Unfortunately, due to the lack of technology, the works of these precious people are not available. We can mention to “Master Isaac”, one of the great masters who has been the master of others in singing and music, and he is still alive. But, he has lost his voice for the last 15 years. Great masters such as “Master Heidar” and “Master Mohammad” and other great masters have worked hard in this music in order to hand it down to us.
“Siah Chamaneh” is a very difficult song. Because, there isn’t any instrument in its accompany. So, it is responsible to convey everything and satisfy the audience. Moreover, rules must be followed. Because of its difficulty, very few people chose to sing this song. In our city, the number of these singers are less than the number of fingers on one hand.
After “Siah Chamaneh”, we consider the other divisions of the song. “Tasnif” in Persian is one of these cases. We have “half cycles” and “cycles” that are sung for joy and weddings, we have songs for night gatherings and rounds, we have lullabies, and we have songs for working in farm and gardens. There is a song for every part of life in Oraman. And, same as all other nations, the people of Oraman have their own music.
Oraman has remained very pristine and unspoilt due to the impassability of the area. Transportation and communication were almost impossible as there were no roads and no means of mass transportation available. But, there have been some changes in the last 50 years. Although, it is still original.
Since, we have talked about “Siah Chamaneh”, I would like to introduce the songs sung in the monasteries, the romantic, mystical songs, and each part. But, since this is not possible, I will briefly perform the main song of Oraman, “Siah Chamaneh”.
I would like to add that since there is no instrument in accompany with “Siah Chamaneh” and as it is not academic, there are no professors who have studied “Siah Chamaneh” at university, so it has been passed from a person to another by heart. Actually, just intrested and tallented people have learnt it from masrers.
These 72 maqam can not be checked here. Now I’m going to play a piece to make you more familiar with “Siah Chamaneh”.
Ali Kamali (Azar 1376) is a musician and singer of tanbur maqam and the son of Adel Kamali, one of the great tanbur music.
Like his great ancestors, he plays the tanbur masterfully and reads the authorities and words masterfully.
He has often amazed and admired the masters of the tanbur and other music teachers in various music festivals of the country with his strong performances.
